Things to do while waiting for decisions on Saturday
Things to do while waiting for decisions on Saturday This goes out to all of you waiting on tenterhooks for decisions to come out in a couple of days (I love the word tenterhooks. Its amazing.). These are just a few small ideas I know you can think of others tailored to your interests. And share those! Theyre probably awesome! -Sleep. As second-semester seniors, you should have become well-acquainted with this sometime around January. (Um, I mean, I SAID NOTHING YOU ARE ALL BEING DILIGENT STUDENTS FROM NOW UNTIL GRADUATION) -If you have a ton of free time on your hands, learn ozonolysis. Oh man, was that a meta-metapost? Its gonna be a good day. Speaking of, why do people shorten organic chemistry to orgo? Does Inorganic Chemistry (all the cool kids are calling it 5.03 these days) ever get shortened to Inorgo? I hope not, because that sounds really, really silly. What was I saying? Oh. Right. More things you can do between now and Saturday afternoon: -Buy really cool brain-related t-shirts on the Internet. Now you too can declare your nerdiness on your chest for the viewing pleasure of small children and passersby. -Sleep. Also, DONT PANIC. Youre scaring your family. (Thank them for the last couple of months, by the way. College application time causes tons of stress for everyone.) On that DONT PANIC note, read (or reread, if youve already made your way through it) The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Similar to gateway drugs, this book is the first step before reaching a level of sci-fi hardcore known only to a select few. Next comes Neuromancer and Battlestar Galactica, and then youre on to the very depths of obscurity. If you find yourself living every waking moment in fear that youre really a cylon, all hope is lost. -If reading science fiction isnt for you, you can always read a newspaper. Any newspaper. Something that isnt centered on the United States, even. Anything at all. Ignore any of those RECORD NUMBER OF HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS APPLYING TO COLLEGE articles, as they will only lead to panic, and we just discussed how you arent allowed to do that. -Leave a comment on the blogs that displays more than just your knowledge of ordinal numbers. (This one is really just in here to see how many of you will even read the post before commenting. Substance! Give it to us! Tell us stories!) Discover new music. Once youve done so, get all statistics-happy about it. Learn to knit! Dont be as bad at it as I am. -If you do get in, dont get all self-righteous about it. Youre fantastic and all, but you too were sitting in your desk chair full of self-doubt and convincing yourself that you werent good enough to get in before you checked online, and your friends and family all know it because you probably went ahead and panicked a lot anyway. Worse than the none of the fifteen colleges I applied to will take me because I suck at life! guy is when he turns into the I knew Id get into fill-in-the-blank University all along! guy. Dont do it. For more things to do, check out a post Jess made a while back. Shes better at this kind of thing than I am. Cant say I didnt try. The best of luck to applicants on Saturday!

Using the Data and Your Economic Knowledge, Assess the...
Improvement in the UK economy is usually dependant on the improvement of four major factors, economic growth, balance of payments, unemployment and inflation. This should lead to steady economic growth that would lead to a steady increase in the productive capacity in the economy. Income tax is the percentage of income that people are taxed upon that is given to the government. There are many policies that can be used to tackle these certain goals, for example fiscal and monetary policy. Fiscal is a change in government spending or taxation, an example of fiscal policy is to reduce taxation and thus give consumers more spending power, hopefully increasing economic activity. Monetary policy is centred on interest rates, for example reducingâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This also improves the distribution of income, a reduction in the unemployment rate with result in households yet having more spending power and yet encouraging more economic growth. An increase in employment will resu lt in an improvement in the budget deficit as there will be a decrease in the demand for welfare benefits, thus improving the economy. The increase in the supply of goods and services (due to an increase in demand) is also expected to reduce demand pull inflation, as there is now less competition for few goods, lowering the prices to a healthy equilibrium. This can be shown in a demand and supply diagram. However, these long and short term economic improvements are only what is predicted to happen and there negatives to the reduction in income tax. A factor that the government must take into account is the budget deficit, can the government afford to simply cut income tax that is a large source of revenue for the budget. A worsened budget deficit could have devastating impacts upon the economy, for example less people able to have the benefits they require, (this would also reduce demand in the economy as those on benefits generally spend the money they have as they do not have spare to save, this may damage the economy even further) or a reduction in money towards health care. Also, a reduction in income tax does not necessarily meanShow MoreRelatedImpacts of Global Financial Crisis on Hrm Policies8256 Words à |à 34 Pagesapproach will not only push down the morale of your employees but it will also shove your talentedà workersà from leaving yourà organization. Case Study #1: The Kapur Catastrophe Allison Dufour Human Behavior and The Social Environment Christie Mosley-Eckler, LMSW University of Texas at Arlington October 30, 2015 Case Study #1: The Kapur Catastrophe After much anticipation, the Kapur family moved back to their hometown of Colley, Maine. The father, Nev Kapur, just finished serving five years in the military and accepted a full-time job as an information technician for a local business. The family agrees it would be best for the mother, Amanda Kapur, to stay home and take care of their three-year-old twin daughters Nia and Maya. It is important to the Kapur family to have a parent stay at home because the twin daughters were born 7 weeks prematurely, leading to some cognitive and physical impairments to Nia. Nia has recently learned to walk, but she is still unable to speak smoothly. She uses some sign language and small words to communicate her wants and needs to family members. Although it makes things tighter financially, both parents agree it is the best way to help Nia advance physically and cognitively. All was going well until Nev Kapurââ¬â¢s father suddenly passed away from a brain aneurism. Nev immediately told his mo ther Riya she could move into the third bedroom of their home for as long as sheââ¬â¢d like. This quick move in has lead to a number of strains on the family. The Ban On Tobacco Advertisements - 941 Words
My thoughts and reasoning may not be that of a business intent but more from a personal aspect, as for the ban on tobacco ads being shown in the country by the Indian Government 02/06/2001. Not only for health purposes such as lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart disease, stroke, asthma, reproductive affects in women, diabetes, premature, low birth weight in babies, blindness, cataracts, or age related macular degeneration. With India being a nation with war, as well as lots of heat as they are in the middle of the Sahara desert, many people are subject to having breathing issues without smoking. The reasoning was to block adolescents from purchasing tobacco products, where here in the United States there actually is a sting operation in many cities that police officers pay someone to attempt to purchase tobacco products in order to ensure that businesses are not selling to minors. Minors are not the only reason any country should ban the ads, as I remember as a little girl, the commercial was ââ¬Å" like father, like sonâ⬠and it showed everything the father did the son would do, and at the end of the day and they would go sit under a tree, the father would then light up a cigarette and then the son would look at the pack and then look up to the father and the words ââ¬Å" like father, like son would be said and the brand was Marlboro, this was 1968 if my memory serves me correctly. Change Technological Forecasting And Social -Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Discuss About The Change Technological Forecasting And Social? Answer: Introduction Amazon.com, Inc is an electronic commerce organization that is headquartered in Washington, United States of America. The organization was primarily established by Jeff Bezos in the year of 1994 and currently the organization is the biggest online retailer in the global market in a measure of revenue and the capitalization of market. Amazon operates in the market of United States of America, France, Canada, China, Brazil, Australia and in many more countries. The organization initially started selling books and later they initiated selling electronics, various software, furniture, toys, electrical goods and many more. In this regard it is worth mentioning that the management of Amazon has launched different websites for different countries where they operate. The target customers of Amazon Australia are the individuals who are adults and the early adopters are undoubtedly the favorite customers of the management of Amazon Australia. The generation of revenue of the organization immensely depends on the early adopters as these individuals are always enthusiastic to try new products of the market and this group of customers is seen to be lesser price sensitive than the rest of the customers. Apart from that these individuals are loyal towards the organization and they endorse the products of Amazon through word of mouth advertising method willingly (O'Connor 2017). The management of Amazon Australia thus rewards the early adopters by providing them early access to the latest products and these customers also get special benefits. The management of Amazon has aggressively captured the market of baby diapers by lowering the prices and then they bought the organization Quidsi, one of their rival organizations. After that, the new parents of th eir operational market have become major target customers for the management of Amazon Australia. As these new parents, who are young adults tends to develop a shopping habit for their infant (Abedin 2016). The management of Amazon Australia has seen this trend and targets this customer base with Amazon family that provides almost 20% discount to the Prime members for the subscriptions to diapers and other products for babies (O'Connor 2017). The purpose of this report is to draw a gather the knowledge regarding the consumer behavior of the target customers of Amazon Australia. Amazon and their rival organizations in Australian market Currently Amazon is one of the biggest online retailers in the global market and when they established their business in Australia a few months ago, the management of Amazon Australia has observed that in the Australian market the growth of online sales has increased almost 10 to 12 % and to capitalize the situation the management of Amazon expanded their business to Australia. The major rival companies of Amazon Australia are the organizations like Harvey Norman, Myer, JB HiFi and many more. The management of Amazon Australia is targeting to establish their business ion the market of Australia by providing exciting offers to the target customers and by selling the products and giving opportunities to the target customers after getting to know their requirements (Abedin 2016). Thus, it can be said that getting to know the requirements of the customers are important for the success of a retailer organization. It is seen that the management of Amazon Australia is reputed for their aggr essive way of capturing the market and in this scenario; the management of the rival organizations are thinking that by lowering the prices immensely the management of Amazon Australia might capture the total online retail market of Australia making it difficult for them to sustain (Cavusgil et al. 2014). The management of Amazon Australia uses better distribution and logistics system and that helps the organization to satisfy the requirements of the customers more easily and that can help them to gain the competitive advantage on their rival organizations. Apart from that, another feature allows the management of Amazon to gain competitive advantage and that is leveraging Information technology and the usage of e-commerce makes it sure that the productivity and profitability of the organization remain higher than the rival organizations in the market of operation. Learning theories for the customers of Amazon Australia There are mostly two types of target customers of Amazon Australia and those are new parents and early adopters. The early adopters are the ones who show enthusiasm to buy the latest products launched by the organization and these customers do not care for the monetary aspects. Thus these are the major customers of Amazon Australia, who will determine the profitability of the organization in the Australian market. The other group of target customers of Amazon Australia is the new parents; as the management of the organization has captured the most of the baby diapers and the products for the infants, the new parents automatically became the target customer groups. In this section of this report it will be discussed that which or which combination of learning theories will help these customers to learn the services provided by the management of Amazon Australia. There are mostly two types of learning theories that the consumers can utilize and those are behavioral approach and cognitive approach to learning. In the behavioral approach, the process of learning occurs as a response to the events taking place in an individuals external environment. On the contrary, in the cognitive approach, the learning becomes a result of the individuals deliberate and conscious information processing and the storage activity (Hsu 2018). The management of Amazon Australia provides their target customers with unique rewards and attractive facilities to keep them loyal towards the organization and these are positive aspects of the management of the organization as when a target customer experience that he or she can easily choose the products from the shopping portal and get exciting offers and good service from the organization, naturally they will tend to buy products from the organization and make some researches in order to avail the exciting offers provided by the organization (Walker 2017). On the other hand, looking at the advertisements of the organization, the target customers of the organization can accumulate necessary information regarding the services of the organization that will make it easier for them to take the right decisions to choose the organization from whom they will buy products (Hsu 2018). It can be said that the combination of these two theories can be fruitful for the target customers of Amazon Australia to choose the right organization from whom they want to purchase goods. In this context, it is worth mentioning that the consumers cannot take their decisions alone and they will be needing to get some information from different types of sources like reference groups, advertisements of the organization or any other secondary or primary source of information (Li, Nagurney and Yu 2017). The decision making process of the target customers of the organization is among the stimulus for the purchase, the requirements of the consumers and the corresponding responses. The stimuli can either be inter-personal or intra-personal from the customers. This issue can be explained in more details using the black box model. Black box model The box involves the characteristics of the customers and the decision making process of the customers. The external and internal factors might be represented in the model as the environmental stimuli and the buyer characteristics. These factors will both manipulate the process of decision making. From the identification of the issue till the post assessment of the decisions at every step is vital for the customer that can unswervingly to the marketing strategies. The learning which is positive can reduce the time for making decisions where the customer can eliminate the choices and the customers will take lesser time to do market research. It can be said that all these aspects are related to the motivation, learning, psychological factors and the personality of the consumer (Walker 2017). It is a matter of fact that, from the above mentioned theories the information regarding Amazon Australia the target customers will get will either positively or negatively impact on the relationship between the organization and the target customers (Li, Nagurney and Yu 2017). On the other hand, the observational learning materials for the consumers, like advertisements of the organizations can influence the target customers to buy the products from that specific organization. Reference groups The term reference group refers to a group of individuals; to which another group or an individual can be compared. Further it can be said that the reference groups can be used to determine and evaluate the nature of other groups or individuals sociological attributes and characteristics. The reference groups give benchmarks and the required contrast to evaluate and compare groups and the personal characteristics. When a particular reference group is seen used as a source of information, people get all the necessary information from the group members. In this way, either the information is shared verbally or in form of writing from the direct instruction, observation or demonstration by the group members (Cavusgil et al. 2014). In this way, the members become the authoritative source for all types of information. There are always some members who are dependent on the others regarding gathering the information. When the source of information is seen as reliable and the provided information is relevant to the issue, it becomes more influential. For an example, if a 20 years old computer engineer is asked for opinion regarding purchasing a laptop, he or she will become the most influential source of information. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the information might be dispersed within the reference group by social media websites, blogs and via social meetings. For an example, it can be said that an individual might ask for necessary information from the co-members of a reference group. The information can also be distributed among the members of the reference group informally or unintentionally. Generally the reference groups are of two types, primary and secondary. In a primary reference groups the group members happen to have close bonding, frequent face to face interactions. The members of a primary reference groups tend to have a significant influence on the other individuals and that includes the influence in the marketplace (Li, Nagurney and Yu 2017). For an example, it can be said that if there is a small group of friends where the individuals are interested in automobile, and a group member is planning to buy a gadget for his or her car from Amazon, the other members of the group will definitely help that person to buy the product by providing him the necessary information regarding the product. On the other hand, a secondary reference group is referred to the group in which the communication among the group members is lesser and example of such groups is large social clubs, professional organizations, or alumni associations. In this scenario, the influence of a group member to the other members of the group is lesser. It is seen that the secondary groups are generally formed from smaller primary groups (Cavusgil et al. 2014). For an example, it can be said that a person might choose to wear blue shirt and black pant just like the other individuals of his workplace does the same. Adoption and diffusion of innovation Diffusion theory of innovation demonstrates why, how and at what rate the new notions and technologies get spread. Everett Rogers widely popularized the theory of diffusion of innovation where he stated that diffusion is the way by which a unique innovation gets shared over time between the members of a social system. There are four major elements of theory of diffusion and those are; time, social system, the innovation itself and the communicational channel (Tigabu, Berkhout and van Beukering 2015). For the sustenance of the innovation, it should be widely adopted. In the rate of adoption, there should be a point where a unique innovation reaches the critical mass. To categorize the adopters, they can be divided into groups like early adopters, innovators, early majority, late majority and laggards. The diffusion can be seen in various ways and it is subject to the categories of innovation decision process and the adopters. The decisive factor of categorization of the adopters is in novativeness that can be explained as the degree to which a person adopts a new notion or idea. Communication channels are one of the most fundamental aspects of diffusion theory of innovation and diffusion takes place among the individuals or organizations. The channels of communication allow the transfer of information from one unit to another unit (Li, Nagurney and Yu 2017). The patterns of communication or the capabilities should be established among the concerned parties as a minimum for diffusion to take place. There are two major communicational channel of Amazon Australia and those are social media and the other one is word of mouth of the early adopters. Social media The social media in todays world has become one of the major influential medium or channel of communication. In spite of noticeable accessibility and simplicity of the majority of the social media channels, if it is used wisely, it can effectively give opportunity to get connected with numerous new and existing stakeholders ( in this case, the customers) (Agnihotri et al. 2016). Apart from the opportunities, social media can invoke various challenges like other channels of communication if it is not used with proper caution. Since the last decade, there has been a significant increase in the usage of social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and many more in order to share information and also to create content. In todays ever changing world, various business organizations are trying to use social media as a platform to let know their target customers about their existence and the services they offer (Tigabu, Berkhout and van Beukering 2015). Advantages of social media platform Social media as a channel of communication has been advantageous in most of the cases. Social media effectively enhances the impact of the important information. Social media as a channel of communication leverage networks of individuals to make the sharing of information easier. The social media makes different messages to reach up to the diverse target audiences. The social media communicational channel can help the organization to directly provide messages to the target customers (Hudson et al. 2015). Apart from these, the social media is a major tool that can be used in building credibility and awareness. The business organization like Amazon Australia can be use social media in audience segmentation. The management of the organization can share messages which are specific to te requirements, concerns and desires of a particular target customer group while keeping in mind what factors can attract them to buy products. Word of mouth publicity Written or oral recommendation by the customers who are satisfied from the services provided by Amazon Australia can be a good word of mouth promotion for the specified business organization. Word of mouth promotion can be considered as one of the most influential form of marketing as when the target customers observe that there are numerous people who have bought the products and are satisfied, that would automatically influence the target customers to buy the products (Baker, Donthu and Kumar 2016). There is some presence of incorrect information sharing too. As some business organizations can hire people for word of mouth marketing and they write positive comments on the shopping portals regarding the products which they have never used. The customers would not be able to differentiate between the fake and the honest inputs. At times, word of mouth can be effective as a channel of communication in the marketing campaign of any business organization, as it can provide an impactful solution to infiltrate the consumer guards in order to make them talk regarding a specified product. The word of mouth channel of communication is in general personal and that depicts that they are certainly not subject to the persuasion from the business organization regarding individual gains or becoming subject to being bias. This communicational channel impacts positively as it demonstrates the thinking or the statement of the consumers who have already used the product and the comments from the customers are generally considered as reliable source. Recommendation As the two targeted categories of customer groups of Amazon Australia are the early adopters and the new parents, the management of the organization should introduce some unique services or introduce some exciting offers for these two target customer groups in order to keep them loyal towards the organization. It is a matter of fact that the loyal and repeat customers immensely determines the success of any business organizations and thus the management of Amazon Australia should introduce some unique strategies to make the most of the Australian market. The management of Amazon Australia can provide some discounts and lower the preorder pricing to attract more people to become early adopters. The management can introduce a new reward system for the early adopters, like the individuals who will buy the latest model of I-phone or Mac book, can exchange their older model with significantly higher pricing. Apart from that the management can call a conference and reward the early adopter s to make them believe that they are important for the organization. On the other hand, the management of Amazon Australia can lower the prices of the goods they sell for the infants. In this way the management can attract more new parents to buy products for their child from Amazons shopping portal only. Already Amazon has a reputation of lowering the prices aggressively to capture the market, thus, this strategy can effectively help the organization to establish in the market of Australia. The management of the organization needs to improve their policies regarding after sales service and the issues of product returning after the sales. The management if the organization should keep an eye on the quality control of the products as that can effectively build the reputation of the organization in the relatively unknown market of Australia. The business leaders of Amazon Australia can also effectively improve their social media and television campaigning in order to let the target cu stomers know about their newly introduced services and the products. The managerial board of the organization can introduce new reward systems via social media platform in order to attract more individuals to visit their social media pages, and this can effectively increase their engagement with the target customer base trough the platform of social media. Conclusion Thus to conclude, it can be said that Amazon is a well established and reputed business organization that is operating in nearing one hundred countries and expanded their business in the market of Australia. To achieve success the management has categorized the target customers into two parts and they will be planning to improve their policies and services to capture the market to achieve the monopoly in the online retail business in Australia. The business leaders of Amazon Australia is planning to improve their relations with the target customers in order to get to know the requirements of them in order to maximize the productivity along with the profitability. Thus the management of Amazon Australia should stress on the factors like improving the relation with the target customers and by improvising the company policies and services to attract more customers and also to let people know about the services offered by the business organization. Society with Music free essay sample
Dry. Dominique What does music mean to you? Do you think its changed from the different styles of music and the way that music sounds from when It started? Music can play a big part and role on society. There are many different types of music and music festivals in todays society. Music has changed a lot within the past few decades. Music festivals have pretty much stayed the same. People can be Judged on the type of music that they listen to as well as the way that they dress. In this essay I will insider how music relates too sociological theory, three social concepts, how music has changed, peoples clothing appearance, race in relation to music, TV In relation with music, different type of music magazines, the radio, and music festivals in society. There are three sociological perspectives or theories that we learned about. One of them Is the Functionalist perspective, another one Is Conflict perspective, and the last one is Interactions perspective. We will write a custom essay sample on Society with Music or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Functionalist perspective emphasizes the way in which the parts of a society are structured to maintain its debility. (Schaefer, 2011, Peg. 13). Conflict perspective assumes that social behavior is best understood in terms of tension between groups over power or the allocation of resources, including housing, money, access to services, and political representation. (Schaefer, 201 1, Peg. 14). Interactions perspective will examine sports on the micro level by focusing on how day-to-day social behavior is shaped by the distinctive norms, values, and demands of the world of sports. (Schaefer, 2011, Peg. 17).I think that music goes best the Interactions perspective theory even Hough it states its about sports because I think of it as just like interracial. In the book it states Despite class, racial, and religious differences, teammates may work together harmoniously and may even abandon previous stereotypes and prejudices. (Schaefer, 2011, Peg. 17). The way I see it the band could be like a team and the members are the teammates. The teammates (members) of the team (band) have to cooperate with each other. Even If they are a different race or a different religion. There are many deferent social concepts they we have learned I will talk about here of them and there relation with music In society. Independent variable Is one of them. Independent variable means The variable in a causal relationship that causes or influences a change in another variable. (Schaefer, 2011, Peg. 30). Artists can have a big impact on people In a society and can affect others and change the way that they act or speak. Self is another one. Self is A distinct identity that sets us apart from others. (Schaefer, 2011, Peg. 84).Some artists are making up their toys can express their self also. The last concept I will talk about is theory. Theory mean In sociology, a set of statements that seeks to explain problems, actions, or behavior. (Schaefer, 2011, Peg. 8). Artists can have an impact on their listeners even if the artist doesnt know it; it can change the listeners behavior the most towards certain objects or people. I will now talk about how music has changed overtime. Music has changed a lot in the past decades music has had a complete turnaround for varies type of music. There are so many sub-genres now to certain type of music rather than having a few genres that can classify a number of different types of genres. RB wasnt as popular until after the Civil Rights Movement and is now a very popular genre in todays society. Hip-Hop started off in the asss in the Bronx, New York and focused on emceeing, break beats, and house parties. Some of the popular Hip-Hop artists are; Public Enemy, OPAC, Notorious B. I. G. , Slick Rick, Salt N EPA, Busts Rhymes, and The Fugues. It has changed a lot from when it first started off. Hip-Hop is a very popular music genre in todays society. Hip-Hop today they are talking about blind, money, and hoes. People are always saying Hip-hop is dead because it has changed so such from what it used to be. Rock or Rock and Roll music probably has the most for sub-genres in todays music society; there are roughly about thirty different sub- genres to fall into it. Rock and Roll did not get its name until the sasss. Some of the popular Rock and Roll artists are; The Battles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, and Grateful Dead.In an article it states Rock and roll appeared at a time when racial tensions in the United States were entering a new phase, with the beginnings of the rights movement for desegregation, leading to the Supreme Court ruling that abolished the policy of separate but equal in 1954, but leaving a policy which would be extremely difficult to enforce in parts of the United States. (H. Zinc, A peoples history of the United States: 1492-present (Pearson Education, 3rd edition, 2003), p. 450). For the most part Rock and Roll or Rock music has changed with all the different sub-genres we have now.Music change can affect the society because people like to act like their favorite artist and with the affect that how Hip-Hop has changed can be a big part with the society. I think music has changed so much with he new artists and they Just want to try out new forms of music and make new sounds or different style lyrics and it influences others to do the same so it diverts from how it started. There are many types of music in todays society that someone can listen to. People can be Judged by the way that they dress in multiple ways; music would be one way to Judge someone how they dress. If you look at someones music list you will start to Judge what their race is and the way that they dress. If you see somebody wearing all black and chains all over their pants you will tart to Judge that they listen to Heavy Metal music. If you see somebody wearing baggy clothes and pants sagging down below their waist you begin to think that they listen to Rap or Hip-Hop. If you see somebody dress in cowboy boots and other clothes considered as rednecks clothing you would be Judge that they listen to Country music. If you see somebody wearing Bob Marble clothing you would be ledge them for listening to Reggae music. People are Judged a lot in many ways by the way that they dress whether its their class, the type of music that they listen to, loud listen to any kind of music and they Just prefer a certain type of music more than other genres and choose to dress th at way. Race can play big role on stereotypes. People get Judged by their race for a lot of things, the type of music that they listen to would be one of them.People usually assume that Blacks listen to Rap, Hip/Hop, and Reggae, Whites listen to Rock, Metal, Country, and Pop, and Mexicans listen to Reagent, Salsa, and Cambium. In an article it states For all of metals globalization, metal is frequently associated with white, working-class men. This article focuses attention on the African-American minority within US metal scenes, drawing on a case study of the all-black thrash metal band Stone Vengeance, who while enjoying a primarily white male audience, formed their aesthetic in recognition, even celebration, of their blackness. (Fellers, Popular Music History; Paprika, Volt. 6 Issue 1/2, IPPP-197, app). Basically it is saying that most of the metal listening population is Whites. But there is a group of Blacks that like the music as Nell. This can go along with stereotyping Just because someone is a certain race isnt mean they have to listen too certain musical genre. No matter what your race is you allowed to listen to whatever music genre you like and makes you happy. TV use to play a good role with music also. MET use to show all the hot music ideas and information on artists.MET is supposed to stand for Music Television. Now they have all of these stupid shows like Teen Mom, dating shows, and reality shows. It changes the way that the youth to want to act like the people they see on TV like they see them as a role model. Its like people are beginning to lose touch Ninth music and its origins and how it began. The radio also plays a big role with music also. There are thousands of different stations broadcasted in the United States. Some of them play the hits of todays society, classic music, and certain types of genres. The radio stations that play the hits of todays society are a good way to keep up to date with the popular hits. The radio can help you along with finding a new song or artist you like. Some radio stations may tell you about new CDC coming out by certain artists. Some radio station may let you call in to request a song to play as well. The radio can relate to society to open up your taste for other music or new artists in certain genres. Its a good way for people to get into music that dont like to read magazines or watch TV.In this paragraph I will talk about music festivals with todays society. There are many types and names of music festivals that are famous and well-knows or that happen in todays society. Music festivals have stayed the same in numerous ways by having large crowds, a lot of different bands, bringing people together to listen to music and have fun. It can relate with society because it can bring all different styles f music and races together and have fun and listen to music that they enjoy listening to.Some of the more well-known music festivals are Woodstock, Softest, Vans Warped Tour, Allophone, Raves, and Debuted festivals. Woodstock took a bigger role in 1969 when the first festival was but they still do a Woodstock concert every 10 years, and had a 42nd celebration in 2011. Its main purpose was for 3 days of peace and love. It had a number of different bands that are still popular in todays society still, people who attended of different beliefs, there were also drugs and alcohol there, and most of the people that had gone to the concert were hippies Just 1996.It plays the Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal genres music. Its can play a role on society to bring people who like and love the Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal music genres together for fun. The Vans Warped Tour is one of the bigger music festivals that travels around the United States annually since 1995. The festival can consist of number of bands in the Rock genres group but mainly play Punk Rock, Hardcore type of music one in a while they will have a Hip-Hop, Rap, or Reggae artist there as well, ND the festival also consists of extreme sports as well.Vans Warped Tour can produce as many as asss of bands or artists per show with multiple stages where a band would play a few songs and then rotate the bands out on the stage. There are two main stages where the bigger and more popular bands will play. You can also purchase a CD at almost any retail store for each year of the festival; it consists of 2 CDC per case with about 50 artists total, and will contain some of the more popular bands and songs from that years tour on the CD.It can play a r ole with society to ring people together who like the Rock music genre and meet new people or good time with friends viewing number of band in an open area, and seeing some professional skaters and bikers doing tricks. Allophone is an annual tour that travels around the United States since 1991 with a few off years. The festival can consist of music genres from Hip-Hop to Metal bands; they sometimes have a comedian there for shows as well. Allophone has helped a number of bands expose and popularize them. Its purpose is like any other music festival to have a DOD time and listen to music. There are number of different kinds of Raves. Raves plays an electronic type of music some people call it Techno. Raves will usually give out drugs when you get there, such as marijuana, MADAM, LSI, cocaine and astatine. This Just makes it more fun with the type of music and flashing lights all over. It can play a role with the society the people who show up could abuse the use of the drugs that they get and may get an overdose.Debuted is another form of electronic music that can be confused with Techno. Debuted festivals are a little bit like raves but they are usually outside rather than inside like a rave. The music is somewhat similar but people who know each of the genre a lot can tell the difference easily. Reese festivals also give out drugs when you get there. It can play a role on society Ninth people abuse the use as well. So even from Woodstock to todays society people still like and go to music festivals to have fun listen to music, meet new people, and even get drugs. There are many types of magazines in the society today. Magazines are pretty much the same and will usually give the same information such as; the inside scoop on the hot topics which will correspond on what magazine you are reading. Music magazines can be divided up into certain genres or all types of music genres. They can give information about what CDC are coming out and new songs or the top song listings for the certain genre or the Top 100 Billboard for song listings then can also show clothing that artists produce or styles that certain artists will wear.It can relate Ninth society in many ways such as; for people who dont have time to watch TV or who dont like to watch to TV. Maybe they do like to watch TV but they also like to read and want to get an inside scoop with some artists and learn more about the style of USIA genre. Clothing appearance seeing how your favorite artist dresses and can still able to keep up to date with the new songs that are out and CDC coming out Introit watching TV.Some well-known music magazines are; Billboard, Rolling Stone, Spin, Alternative Press, Vibe, and XSL. There are music magazines that correspond with all type of genres and some that will correspond with certain type of genres. So it really doesnt matter what music magazine you are reading because it Nail usually give you the same type of information but there are Just certain styles of USIA magazines for certain styles of music genres or ones that talk about all styles of music genre. In conclusion there are many ways that music can relate to society. People in the society can relate to the change that music has made, Hip-Hop genre the most. Over time certain genres have become popular after certain events. Music has changed in many ways for many reasons in which many people may not know. There are some things in the society of music that have stayed the same as well. Artists are forgetting the core of music and how it started and it Just keeps growing because they keep imitating the current artists.
